DOLL ** UK 2021 Dir: Louis Taylor. 10 mins
A man (Louis Taylor) is tormented by an unknown entity in his home.
With only a £500 budget, I knew this would be basic when it came to set design. Not the most ideal start for a haunted house film. The narrative at least is quite realistic as who hasn’t heard strange noises when home alone. This could have been improved by adding more tension and suspense as without it, it didn’t seem very scary.
The cinematography styles used were slightly creepy, but a lot of this came from the sound work. With no spoken word but the sounds of insane laughter heard throughout, a layer of creepiness was added.
Thankfully, Louis Taylor puts in a convincing performance as the lone member of the cast.
