The Italian female revenge thriller Emanuelle’s Revenge is out now on DVD and VOD/Streaming (including Amazon Prime Video, APPLE TV, Google and KinoNow) by Cinephobia Releasing.
Far from being just a grindhouse film for men, co-directors Dario Germani and Monica Carpanese (who also wrote the screenplay) gives this entertaining tale a surprising S/M feminist twist.
Synopsis:
Emanuelle, that 1970s siren of filmic sensuality, returns, this time as a celebrated lesbian novelist with a burning secret. Set in contemporary Italy, the wealthy playboy Leonardo (Gianni Rosato) – think ponytail-era Aaron Rogers – meets and falls for the beguiling Emanuelle (Beatrice Schiaffino.) But what begins as a simple cat-and-mouse game of seduction, soon turns much sinister.
