HORROR SCREAMS VIDEO VAULT – SUPPORTING INDEPENDENT HORROR

SELFIE **** UK 2015 Dir: Geoff Harmer. 7 mins

Stacy Hart is chatting to her boyfriend on Messenger, taking selfies for his pleasure as she does so, and begins capturing a creepy figure lurking behind the sofa each time – a figure only visible on the selfies themselves. An update on familiar technophobic J-Horror themes, this pared-down, one-setting, one-handed short triumphantly achieves a sustained sense of unease, with a suitably alarming (if guessable) punchline.
