FIELD FREAK **** U.S.A. 2016 Dir: Stephen Folker. 91 mins
A popular author moves his family to an idyllic writing retreat to get his creative juices pumping. Although this place is anything but quiet, as the family begin to encounter strange occurrences and things that go bump in the night!
Are rabid beavers to blame? Or is there something more sinister a foot?
Well yes, there’s something menacing lurking in the grounds, a monstrous, bigfoot-esque creature is to blame, and it’s causing carnage!
This low budget serving is laugh out loud funny, which is in large part attributable to the well-timed interactions between characters and the dialogue used.
It does fall into the best worst movie category, much like Troll 2 and a plethora of other movies of this ilk.
My main gripe with the movie is I wanted to see more blood, gore and mayhem!
I loved everything about this movie, the actors portrayal of the characters and its overall charm.
Unfortunately this movie isn’t scary at all. If you are looking for scares, suspense and real horror, look elsewhere. But, if you’re looking for great Comedy horror B-movie gold you’ve come to the right place.
I’m a lover of schlocky B movies and this is a great schlock comedy horror film, whether that was the intention of the director or he set out to make a cult comedy horror I don’t know, but I think he may have just succeeded.
I freaking loved this movie. Three stars out of five all the way.
Grab some root beer, sit down with your friends and enjoy…this beast of a movie!
