Black Sunday Film Festival 2026 is a mere 2 weeks away and one of the films showing at this years festival is GroupChat.
GroupChat is a genre-led feature exploring many themes through a screen-life format. Written and Directed by Dan Brownlie who produced the film with Mel Morley.
Synopsis:
After a lengthy absence from games master Dean, a group of friends come back online to take part in a role playing game called ‘Necromancer’. His newly curated campaign becomes more eventful than planned.
The film stars Debbie Rochon, Toby Wynn-Davies, Marcel Jortzik, Amy Tara, Georgie Rodgers, James Grimm and Kenzie Critzer.

Black Sunday is a brilliant festival that genuinely shows up for indie filmmakers. Run by Scott Lyus and Chris Nials @chrisnials (who also founded the Independent Horror Society @indiehorrorsoc – another huge force for indie horror), they always create a welcoming, fun, and collaborative atmosphere. It really feels like a space that celebrates filmmakers and genre films, not just screen them.
