On Saturday, 30th September 2023, STORM, a heart-pounding short directed by Lena Tsodykovskaya will be screening at Beyond Fest.
STORM is a homage to early 2000s horror/thrillers with a meta message and a “hide-and-seek” game with cinema. Edgy, highly-visual and told through an unexpected point of view, STORM plummets you down a dark and imaginative rabbit hole in a mere 8 minutes.
STORM will play at BEYOND FEST on Saturday, 30th September 2023 at Los Feliz 3 Theater.
Synopsis:
After being woken up by strange noises in the middle of the night, Isabelle and Malcolm discover an intruder has broken into their home… an intruder unlike anyone has ever seen before. As Isabelle and Malcom desperately try to escape, they finally get a clue of the intruder’s intentions, leading to nothing less than a terrifying resolution to their story.

Lena Tsodykovskaya is an LA-based commercial and film director keen on visually-stylized genre stories that pack an emotional punch. With an MFA in directing from Columbia University, Lena broke out in advertising, working with top global advertising brands and agencies such as BBDO, Disney, McDonalds, Nissan, Coca-Cola and VISA, among others. Lena’s short films, MOTHER’S DAY, YOU HAVE A PROBLEM and LUISA AND ANNA’S FIRST FIGHT have played at prestigious festivals, including but not limited to Kustendorf and HollyShorts, and featured on Short of the Week, Directors Notes and Film Shortage. She has directed a 10×10 series called STEREOSCOPE for Facebook Watch and Eli Roth’s horror company “Crypt TV”. After having a successful run at Holly Shorts and LA shorts this summer, her most current short STORM is playing at Beyond Fest, Sitges Film Festival and FilmQuest among a few other prestige festivals that are yet to be announced this fall. Lena is currently preparing for her first feature BITSY, while developing the feature version of STORM.
