Fabulous Films will be releasing LA BREA season 1 on Blu-ray and DVD on 4th September 2023.
An epic adventure begins in LA BREA: Season One when a massive sinkhole opens in the middle of Los Angeles, pulling hundreds of people and buildings into its depths and a primeval land. The Blu-ray and DVD both contain all 10 episodes from the hit first season.
The series was filmed in 2021 in Australia. Melbourne doubles as L.A. and regional Victoria as 10,000 BC. The effects-heavy production still had to spend $71 million, more than $60 million of it in Victoria. It is the most expensive TV production in Victoria since Steven Spielberg’s series The Pacific in 2009.
The location of the sink hole on LA BREA is the real life La Brea Tar Pits in Los Angeles, where natural asphalt has seeped up from the ground for tens of thousands of years. Millions of plant and animal fossils have been excavated from the pits including a saber-toothed cat, a giant ground sloth, turtles, snails, clams, millipedes and a nearly intact mammoth skeleton.
LA BREA will Return to NBC in 2024 for Season 3.
Synopsis: When a massive sinkhole opens in Los Angeles, pulling in people and buildings, those who fell in find themselves in a mysterious and dangerous primeval land, where they have no choice but to band together to survive. In the search for answers, one family torn apart by this disaster will have to unlock the secrets of this inexplicable event to find a way back to each other.
