TIS Films Launch New Indiegogo for Horror-Comedy Pie-Thon

Philip RogersBy Philip Rogers22nd June 2023No Comments4 Mins Read

Essex Indie production company TIS Films (I Scream on the Beach!, Video Shop Tales of Terror) have launched a new Indiegogo campaign for the horror-comedy film Pie-Thon, which will be included as part of the horror anthology feature HorrorScopes Volume 2: Chinese Zodiac.

    What is PIE-THON?

PIE-THON is a satirical horror from TIS Films – it revolves around a pie eating contest that goes wrong when the pies are spiked with snakes – hilarity and horror ensues. It will be part of the horror anthology feature film HorrorScopes Vol. 2.

We are looking to make PIE-THON really colourful and fun.

    HorrorScopes Vol.2

PIE-THON will feature as the “Snake” segment for Mycho’s HorrorScopes Volume 2: Chinese Zodiac.

We produced the “Leo” segment for the first HorrorScopes film and PIE-THON acts as a de facto sequel to that segment.

What the hell is TIS Films?

We are a small production company based in Essex – we have made several features including I Scream on the Beach!, Mosaic & Video Shop Tales of Terror.

Our director Alex Churchyard recently featured on the BBC national news as part of their Horror on Sea coverage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7Nh-Bbp1ug

We have also recently welcomed the BBC on set when we were shooting: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-essex-65877571

    The Cast

We’re still casting, but so far we have:

    Hannah Paterson:

Reprising her colourful role of Liz Nudger, TV Presenter and plastic surgery enthusiast. Hannah starred in our first feature ‘I Scream on the Beach!’ as well as ‘Video Shop Tales of Terror’ and the upcoming ‘Video Shop Tales of Terror: Lust & Revenge’

    Tony Mardon:

Does this man need any introduction?! Tony has been very busy directing his own film ‘The Witches of the Sands’, but has made the time to appear in just about every project we have done since first working with him on our short film ‘The Allotment’. Tony will play a disgraced former TV presenter who gets roped into presenting the pie eating contest.

    Philip Rogers & Mark Lawrence:

PIE-THON will see these two reprising their roles of Mad Mickey and Big Dave from Leo, just why a pie eating contest would need two bouncers remains to be seen. Philip is perhaps better known now as the one and only Benny Southpaw.

Lall who produces the Video Shop Tales of Terror movies will be playing one of our eaters, the Punjabi Prince!

Lauren who is an author and recently released “Death Lines: Walking London’s Horror History”, will be playing another eater, the insta sensation Arabella Fallabella!

    Trish Norris

Trish who is in our feature Mosaic and has also starred in The Witches of the Sands will play Mad Susan, who supplies all the pies.

    Andrea Rose & Mash

Andrea has been in all of our films to date and in this one will play a very odd mother with a surprisingly furry baby. Mash will play her baby – Mash has previously played “Dog in hotdog costume” in Video Shop Tales of Terror.

    The Crew

We’ll have our usual team behind the scenes such as Ian Chapman on sound, Alex Gent providing wonderful FX work, he is being joined by the super talented Jason Lowe who will do all the nasty sick rigging and we are joined by Kemal Yildirim who will be the DOP on this project – Kemal has done fantastic work on his own features including The Haunting of the Lady Jane and also countless films as a DOP including many of the amazingly shot segments of Video Shop Tales of Terror

    What we need

We have our locations sorted and will be shooting all the indoor footage at FreeSprite Studios in Rochford and we have secured a private field to shoot the pie eating contest scenes in. However, we need funds to pay for things such as

    • Set design
    • Travel
    • FX
    • Makeup

Every penny we get will go into making this film as awesome as it can be.
