Mixing the visual style and shocking violence of the classic Italian Giallo with the slick sensuality of 1980s erotic thrillers, Carlo Vanzina’s controversial box office hit Nothing Underneath dives into the dark underbelly of Milan’s fashion world as American forest ranger Bob Crane – inspired by a psychic vision – heads to Italy in search of his twin sister, a top model who has mysteriously vanished. He soon finds himself drawn into a sophisticated and sinister world of sex, murder, drugs and intrigue where no one is what they seem and a scissor-wielding assassin stalks the catwalk.
This classic late-period Italian thriller stars Donald Pleasence (Phantom of Death, Phenomena), real-life supermodel Renée Simonsen and American TV regular Tom Schanley alongside a host of top models and fashion industry cameos. A classic score by Pino Donaggio adds the finishing touch to a film that oozes Eighties excess and high fashion.
Newly restored in 4K from the original negatives, Nothing Underneath is one of the great unsung films of the late giallo era, and comes fully loaded with extras.

Mixing the classic traditions of Italian giallo cinema with the ultra-modernist aesthetics of Eighties MTV, this 1988 thematic follow-up to erotic thriller Nothing Underneath from director Dario Piana is a visually dazzling and wildly extravagant study in style and slaughter that has a cast of beautiful women headed by cult movie icon Florence Guérin (Faceless, The Black Cat) and is soundtracked by a collection of 1980s pop hits from the likes of Frankie Goes to Hollywood and Huey Lewis and the News.
