Film Review: MAX RELOAD AND THE NETHER BLASTERS (2020)

Peter 'Witchfinder' HopkinsBy Peter 'Witchfinder' Hopkins31st January 2022Updated:31st January 2022No Comments2 Mins Read

MAX RELOAD AND THE NETHER BLASTERS ***** USA 2020 Dirs: Scott Conditt, Jeremy Tremp. 100 mins

Max Jenkins a video game store assistant is thrust into a surrealistic world where reality and fiction are intertwined. When he accidentally unleashes hell on earth by unlocking a hidden level that has a secret curse attached to it ultimately unleashing the Curse of The Ages by playing the video game…Can Max and his ragtag group of friends and co-workers stop the evil from taking over the world…Well you need to give this a spin to find out!

There are some great performances by the young cast including Hassie Harrison and Tom Plumley and some killer cameos from sci-fi cult regulars such as Jay and Silent Bob’s Kevin Smith, Star trek the next generations Wil Wheaton and horror regular Lin Shaye.

This Sci-fi/Action romp is so damn good, it’s a fun film that keeps on giving. comic book fans, horror and sci-fi fans will love this beast of a film it’s a laugh a minute ride into sci-fi hell.

I really adored this film. Max Reload and the Nether Blasters is late Saturday night entertainment, the type of film you can watch with your friends with a large bucket of chicken or popcorn and a few beers. Max Reload and the Nether Blasters seems to have slipped somewhat under the radar but this will ultimately become a cult classic among fans of the genre!

Fans of B-movies and gamers will freaking love this epic nostalgic beast!

This 80’s throwback has some awesome homage’s to films of yesteryear and who doesn’t’ like a film with a killer powerglove in it!

All round awesomeness, if you love Stranger things you will love this one!

    5-star fun all the way!
