TAUGHT IN COLD BLOOD *** USA 2017 Dir: P. David Miller. 94 mins
A troubled teen is torn between the girl he loves and a man who encourages him to kill, will love or death take over?.
This film is a teenage dramatic horror thriller which see’s a vulnerable young man from a broken family meet a man that takes him under his wing and shows him how to become a cold blooded killer with no emotions.
Taught in Cold Blood is a dark indie offering, that is somewhere between the Breakfast Club and American Psycho. I loved the story and general idea of the film here, I did enjoy it but thought it could have been so much more and had the potential of being the next Malevolence.
I liked the film it was something very different, the acting from all the performers here was nothing but exceptional. I would have liked a much darker more gruesome offering around these subject lines, but I think it’s hard to get the mix right of teen drama and horror. Sometimes its Saved by the Bell and sometimes it’s Jeffrey Dhamer’s high school years.
Fans of Malevolence and teen drama will like this dark indie offering.
