Exclusive Interview: Remiara Eve (Death Sentences)

    Death Sentences

What attracted you to Death Sentences?

honestly among many things the main reason besides the love i have for joe’s work, but for this particular script was that i couldn’t guess the ending, when i’m reading a script i can normally and when i find something that throws me for a loop, i’m all in.

Tell us a little about Arabella?

One of the things that i found most appealing about Arabella was her bluntness, and how she felt misunderstood unless she was writing. Shes an intelligent brilliant girl who’s just stuck right now, something I think everyone can relate too during the pandemic. She’s got writers block which is why she even travels out to the cabin. She hates social media but just like everyone else in the public eye she’s found often checking her name to see what everyone’s talking about. She’s kinda on her last leg, especially in the writing world so she’s beyond stressed out, however, things might be looking up, or they might not! you’ll have to watch to find out

How does this character differ from other characters that you’ve played?

I think her realness, i’ve played characters from all types of genres but this one felt the most real, the most relatable and a big part of my career is i want to play characters that are relatable. I want someone out there to watch my work and even for one second feel less alone.

What was your most difficult scene? Why?

the most difficult scene was the driving scenes, i had to act, drive (safely), hit my lines and make sure i was still somewhat facing the camera, but i’m crazy so honestly that was a fun learning experience, maybe i can put stunt driver on my resume now! or when i was running out of the house it had just rained and i fell face first into gravel, hahaha that was probably not my favorite!

How was it working with Joe Leone?

Omg i love working with joe is always amazing, he’s brilliant, i swear he’s guna be the next big thing, keep an eye out for his future work! I truly believe he does amazing work now, with such a lil budget and creates beautiful work so i can’t imagine the day he gets the backing he deserves.

What was your favorite day on set? Why?

My favorite day on set? hmmm I don’t necessarily have one however i do like the hustle and bustle, ya know the chaos of mid way through shooting where you’re all just on point and moving and working and banging out scenes, I really into it when everyone looses the jitters of the first two days and is just ready to go!

What movie or event from your childhood turned you on to the film industry?

Here’s the thing I’ve always wanted to be an actress, when I was a kid I tried out for Annie on Broadway but back then i had stage fright and i walked in the room and just started crying. i was devastated because i was practicing so hard for months and it just wasn’t my time to step onto the scene. I believe in diving timing and trusting the universe. As silly as this sounds, Disney movies! I remember wanting to be a mermaid and demanding my parents let me become one! I always loved putting on plays for my parents and shows, since about when i could walk, however life has a funny way of telling YOU when YOUR ready , so i met this wonderful woman Deana Valente who I worked for after college, for many years and she inspired me to follow my dreams. In fact she’s the one who bought me my first set of acting classes at Stella Adler. I went in, among a bunch of people who had WAY more experience than me, I was nervous but i stuck through and one of the first homework assignments i won best monologue so, from there I got the courage to keep going.

Name your top 3 horror films on all time?

OMG i love the three mothers trilogy! they’re amazing!!! if you haven’t watched suspiria I highly recommend. Tilda Winston and Dakota Johnson star in it! Also one of my favorites, Bette Davis character in Whatever happened to baby Jane? amazing creepy and talented !

    Who inspires your creativity?

Experience. I don’t believe in “acting” a feeling or emotion. i’ve had to have felt it in order for it to feel real to me. i’ve been through a lot but that has made me a deeper understanding compassionate person but also a way more broad ranged actress.

    What’s next for Remiara Eve?

I have a few things coming up, you’ll definitely be seeing me a lot more ! stay tuned! As of right now i believe I need to find an agent, because everything i’ve done it was on my own so far! i’m ready for the next step! I’d really love to work with Meryl Streep but I might cry when i see her hahahah
