The award-winning short horror film BOO will be having it’s official online premiere October 19, 2020 on ALTER (watchalter.com). ALTER produces and releases feature movies, series and short form stories from the most provocative and innovative minds in horror reaching fans across all platforms. The film stars Rakefet Abergel (Superbad, New Girl, Shameless) as Devi, a woman struggling with a unique addiction who has to choose
between who she loves and what she loves.
“I’m really proud that BOO will be featured on ALTER, which is arguably one of the best distributors a short horror film can have,” said Abergel, who also wrote, directed, and produced the film. “I’m excited it’s finally going to be available for online viewers and I’m looking forward to hearing feedback from fans all over the world!”
BOO is the second film from Abergel’s production company, Cyclamen Films. Her first film, Jax In Love, is currently streaming on Amazon Prime and Vimeo On-Demand and playing on ShortsTV.
BOO was an official selection at over 60 film festivals, received 75 nominations, and took home 44 awards to date including Best Director at GenreBlast Film Festival, Best Writing in a Short at Nightmares Film Festival, the Minerva Award for Best Female Filmmaker at Filmquest, and Best Actress at Unrestricted View Horror Film Festival in the U.K.
BOO features performances by Josh Kelly (UnReal / Midnight, Texas / Transformers), Parisa Fitz-Henley (The Sinner / Midnight, Texas / Fantasy Island), Laura Slade Wiggins (Shameless / Rings / The Tomorrow People), and Michael Villar (Skin / The Soviet Sleep Experiment).
The film will be available on ALTER beginning October 19th as a kick-off to their Halloween programming. The trailer is available on YouTube or their website MeetMyBoo.com.
