Behind every good film there is a studio and behind every studio there is a very wealthy boss. But what if that studio boss was part of something bigger? What if the movie mogul served to the thirsty viewing public a hidden meaning, a hidden agenda, tactical promoting or an easy and cheap advertising campaign directed at the world of conspiracy theorists? Whatever the case, consider yourself well and truly ‘Aliced’ as I take you down the rabbit hole of conspiracy nuts, the Eye of Horus, Werecats and pyramids. Strap yourself in, it’s going to be a hypnotic ride!
Before the World Wide Web conspiracy theorists’ (Truth Seekers) tales never travelled further than their local tavern garden, but since the world was introduced to the Internet conspiracies have grown in reach, magnitude and colours. Gone are the days of stories of the government covering up UFO landings and alien abductions; today’s multi-layered conspiracies involve secret groups controlling the world via the media and Lizard People, aka ‘Reptilians’, running the world.
These two conspiracy theories have now become accepted explanations for various strange happenings and are considered facts of cyberspace history. This certainly is one reason people continue to believe and they live in hope their views will eventually be proven right.
During my research for this article I discovered it’s not just a few loners in the far reaches of cyberspace that believe in such strange accounts. In fact, it indicates that half the public believes in at least one conspiracy theory in any given year.
One of the most prominent conspiracy theories in popular culture that has become the popularly-accepted reason for the entertainment industry’s use of bizarre imagery including satanic re-enactments, occult messages, hidden symbols and hyper-sexualisation, all packaged as mainstream and sold across the globe, is that Hollywood is being run by the Illuminati. This sect has allegedly been controlling the world for one reason and one reason only, to create a one-world government. Their end goal is supposedly to create the New World Order, which will dissolve national boundaries and people’s identities and allow total authoritarian control.
The often bizarre imagery seen in films (The Neon Demon) and music videos (Katy Perry –Dark Horse) is allegedly a coded signal mechanism, a form of MK Ultra, which is originally a CIA code word for a real LSD-fuelled brainwashing technique developed by the US military, and exploring its progression into popular culture has never been so twisted. Pyramids, Eye of Horus, cats, foxes and butterflies all pop up in contemporary works and conspiracy theorists often see such symbols as all ultimately being the same symbol and significant to the shadowy Illuminati organization, which some believe to be the real power behind many governments today. As such, these eye symbols represent subjugation, control of knowledge, illusion, manipulation, and power.
MK Ultra, which is believed to be at the forefront of the Illuminati’s master plan in world domination via the means of entertainment, was developed in the early 1950s and was officially sanctioned in 1953. It was reduced in scope in 1964, further curtailed in 1967 and officially halted in 1973.
The program used by the CIA, which cost an estimated $10 million, engaged in many illegal activities, including the use of unwitting US and Canadian citizens as guinea pigs, and this led to controversy regarding its legitimacy. MK Ultra used numerous methods to manipulate people’s mental states and alter brain functions, including the surreptitious administration of drugs (predominantly LSD) and other chemicals, hypnosis, sensory deprivation, isolation and various other forms of psychological torture.
But what does Illuminati and MK ultra have to do with the honeypot of horror? Well, strangely enough, a lot. Conspiracy theories are not just bound to the likes of Walt Disney, Beyoncé, Britney Spears and Lady Gaga. In fact Stephen King, Clive Barker and Stanley Kubrick have all been accused of being part of the elite secret society and one very elaborate YouTube video (The Truth Show) convincingly claims King and other high ranking members of the Illuminati had Kubrick assassinated after getting wind of the final edit of Eyes Wide Shut, starring Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman.
Kubrick had (allegedly) peppered his work with visual references to Masonic symbols, bizarre sexual rituals and triangles for decades, and if you look over his film résumé his movies do indeed feature such imagery, not least in The Shining, an adaptation of a Stephen King book of the same name, which is arguably one of the most cerebral horror films ever made. King himself hates The Shining and he accused Kubrick’s adaptation of being misogynistic. The film features triangular chair backs, step-ladders, roofs, mountains, mirror worlds and tapering corridor shots, all associations allegedly linked to the Illuminati.
One specific scene in The Shining that formed the basis of several YouTube videos showed a male sitting on a bed receiving oral sex from another male while wearing a bear suit before he turns to look directly down the lens of the camera. This strange imagery was the catalyst for a video made by The Truth Show, which alleges King was used for over a decade as an MK Ultra puppet, and to move up the ranks from his role as a submissive vassal he had to introduce another to take his place. He eventually chose Clive Barker (Hellraiser), who then allegedly selected Bryn Curt James Hammond (A Case for Murder: Brittany Murphy Files).
To further establish this conspiracy as fact The Truth Show bolstered its claims by selecting certain personal statements made by all three genre stars and connecting the dots. King’s own admission of escaping from reality by abusing marijuana, speed and LSD directly linked him to project MK Ultra and although the CIA program officially halted in 1973, it hasn’t stopped the dark and fertile legacy continuing a healthy growth even to today.
King admits to suffering phobias of snakes, rats, butterflies, small spaces and even the number 13, and refers to the importance of his writing as a means of keeping these demonic images at bay.
“One snort and cocaine owned me body and soul,” King said. “It was my on-switch, and it seemed like a really good energising drug.”
Such comments sealed his fate and proved his allegiance to the secret society. Clive Barker’s association, much like King’s, relies on his work, predominantly Imajica, which chronicles the events surrounding the reconciliation of earth, called the Fifth Dominion, with the other four Dominions, parallel worlds unknown to all but a select few of Earth’s inhabitants. The novel also covers themes such as God, sex, love, gender and death, which Barker expands on in great detail. Hammond’s links are established in his promotional stills, where he flaunts the milkweed butterfly (monarch butterfly) and the publishing house behind his best-seller, A Case for Murder: Brittany Murphy Files. Miami Fox Publishing allegedly equals 666 due to its position in the alphabet. The YouTube-run show also highlighted that Hammond seemed to flaunt Murphy’s Illuminati sacrifice in a sick public ritual that has become all too common, as claimed by Media Monarchy, a website focused on outing Illuminati members.
“Brittany Murphy followed the same pattern…Strangely enough, there often appears to be a media buildup around these figures before their death documenting their odd behaviour or personal problems. Were these deaths premeditated and part of some kind of sick ritual carried on by the occult-minded elite at the helms of the industry? Are charismatic stars being risen to fame in order to later sacrifice them, creating a worldwide mega-ritual? Is the wave of shock and grief surrounding these events harnessed in some way by high-powered occultists? These concepts might sound totally ridiculous to the average person but, to occult initiates, the magical potency of a human sacrifices has been recognized and documented by the rituals of many ancient civilizations…”
The Truth Show states that before Murphy’s death she had taken part in a photo shoot featuring a fox in the background that was mirrored on several walls, echoing the mirrored dimensions and split personality that Illuminati puppets allegedly suffer from, and two of her final films spelled out her demise. Deadline features Murphy’s character dying in the bathtub, and Murphy’s final moments took place in her bathroom. Across The Hall is littered with Illuminati symbols and Murphy’s death occurred at the hands of a loved one, as claimed in Hammond’s book. Hammond also attended the film’s Los Angeles premier and within two weeks the actress was dead in an alleged winter solstice sacrifice.
How the talent came into contact with each other and how the selection process works is less than fluid, but The Truth Show claims Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut highlights Illuminati initiations that led to his murder, and it was in the late 80s that Barker was introduced to the sect by King after starring in Sleepwalkers, about an ancient and forgotten nomadic race of shape-shifting cats, and Hammond during the filming of Barker’s Midnight Meat Train, a film that has been criticised for its glorification of an underground cult via several websites, including God Like Productions, which claims the movie’s underground creatures were a secret society of reptilians that had grown weak over the decades and who had pledged to stay underground if the butcher, played by Vinnie Jones, agreed to feed them, otherwise they would come up and show themselves. So the butcher used his blood sacrifices to retain control of the society. Barker also shoots art that includes “homoerotic torture porn”, claimed one Reddit member called Truther1390. “That proves he’s involved in Beta Programming.” Photos on Clive Barker’s official website include nude male models wearing faceless masks engaging in sexual activity with Baphomet, which has also become synonymous with the Illuminati thanks to Jay Z and Beyoncé’s decision to feature a goat in their videos and on their clothing designs, leading Illuminati watchers to screech “BAPHOMET!” at the top of their keyboards.
Hollywood Subliminals states Beta programming is referred to as “sexual” programming (slaves). This programming eliminates all learned moral convictions and stimulates the primitive instinct, devoid of inhibitions. “Cat” alters may come out at this level. Known as Kitten programming, it is the most visible kind of programming, and some female celebrities, models, actresses and singers have been subjected to it. In popular culture, clothing with feline prints often denotes Kitten programming.
Hollywood Subliminals goes onto state these sexual slaves develop sexual abilities far beyond what the public is aware is even possible. They also receive the worst kind of abuse, more than most people’s imagination can picture. Beta alters generally see themselves as cats. “What’s up with Clive being throttled to death nude with a hard on?” the reddit user added.
“Isn’t it odd that Madchen Amick was in this show and Stephen King’s Sleepwalkers? She also did that weird cat photoshoot. Kitten programming anyone?” added another reddit user in a topic focusing on the TV series Twin Peaks.
It’s not just King and Barker’s work that has been the focus of Truth seekers; King is relatively new to the Illuminati hall of fame since IT revived his box office career. Movies that have also incorporated the all-seeing eye into their promotional campaigns have included The Eye, The Return, The Skeleton Key, Seed of Chucky, The Neon Demon and Psychosis, which was directed by Amy Winehouse’s boyfriend Reg Traviss and featured a cover quote from Bryn himself, but is it just a publicity stunt to generate business and free advertising?
The Neon Demon, a visually assaulting work of high end horror, is filled with long “hypnotic sequences” that emphasize the shallow self-importance of the fashion world and deliberately dwells on some of the most upsetting human practices possible including necrophilia, cannibalism and ritual killings. All of these horrors are presented in an aesthetically pleasing manner and placed in a cool, fashionable context littered throughout with Illuminati symbols to instil fear in its viewers and create a talking point.
Horror films are there to generate unsettling emotions, just like the ghost train, so the maths seems to add up, but Truth seekers have long taken such emotions and visual stunts and turned them on their head for fear mongering. The Neon Demon focuses on many subliminal scenarios such as the photoshoot, where Jesse (Elle Fanning) has face art in a shape reminiscent of the head of Baphomet, complete with horns and the torch of illumination. Another scene focuses on Jesse’s rebirth, where she is the lead star at a fashion show. The show begins normally but soon turns into a “long, hypnotic, occult ritual that appears to profoundly transform her”, claims a vigilante citizen.
But could The Neon Demon simply have been playing on the audience’s misguided fears and could its niche appeal be the reason it failed to strike a chord at the box office? Not according to Vigilante Citizen. The website concluded, “It is not surprising to learn that it failed at the box office. It is an indulgent, self-aggrandizing, promotional piece by the industry and for the industry”, adding, “What makes this movie more disturbing is the fact that there is actual truth behind the fiction. People at the highest levels of these industries are indeed steeped in systematic abuse, exploitation, and all kinds of other sickening practices. They are so protected by the system that they can make movies about this crap and nobody interrupts their fun.
Why are they so into this? Well, once you swallow the occult elite’s eyeball, you’re either infected for life … or you die. ** Cue pop song by trendy singer Sia **.”
However the film’s director, Nicolas Winding Refn, disputes the absurdity of his Truth seeking critics and told The Guardian, “I’m glamour. I’m vulgarity. I’m scandal. I’m gossip. I’m the future. I’m the counter culture. I’m commercial reality. I’m artistic singularity.” He added, “People ask about divided reactions, and I think ‘Don’t you get it yet?’ With the Internet, there’s no gatekeeper. There’s just content. So to survive, it doesn’t come down to what you do. It comes down to what you represent. And being talked about,” and The Neon Demon certainly provided that.
So is the horror genre the breeding ground for the Illuminati? If you want evidence, all you have to do is search YouTube for it and you’ll find plenty of people that think they’ve found it. There is a ton of videos that explain the Illuminati’s supposed work within the horror genre. Many of these tap into people’s fears, which is why a lot of them add a soundtrack full of horrifying sounds and sometimes show violent pictures to connect the dots. Symbols such as the Eye of Horus and the pyramid are now synonymous with the Illuminati as noted above, and both are famously on American currency. Since the Illuminati are said to have influence over entertainment, finding those symbols on television or in movies is alleged proof of their involvement, but one must ask oneself how much of this is deliberately placed in the audience’s eye-line to provide talking points? Every good marketing agency is fully aware of the power of the Internet, so to place a butterfly over one’s eye (Kate Bosworth, Before I Wake) or a triangle in one’s advertising campaign, (Melissa George, Triangle) provides content for discussion, and as Refn puts it, “With the Internet, there’s no gatekeeper. There’s just content. So to survive, it doesn’t come down to what you do. It comes down to what you represent. And being talked about.”
