A young boy named Drew fears what most children fear, the monster under the bed. Though no one believes him until his father disappears and Drew is sent to hospital. Years later he return as a grown man to his childhood home to put it on the market.
While there he comes across his childhood sweetheart Michelle (Debbie Rochon, ‘SLIME CITY MASSACRE‘) who has waited his return. Although everything seems perfect since his return something in the house has also been waiting for him. For years he was told what he saw as a child was a figment of his imagination he soon realises that what he saw is real and must now battle the creature that wants to suck him dry. ‘DRY BONES‘ is Greg Lamberson’s nod to the classic 80’s horror and he succeeds in doing so. Debbie Rochon gets the job of being the creature (a succubi) who torments Drew and sucks everybody dry right down to the bone. Rochon looks like she enjoys her character as she has to be sexy with some ugly make up but she makes it work and surprisingly she doesn’t get naked. Michael O’ Hear as Drew really draws you into his character even if he does look like a miserable git and he has some moments that are comedy gold. The main song is done by a group called Sealcats and is very haunting but works for this film. For a monster movie it surprisingly has little blood and guts but it does have human skeletons that you can roll up like a rug. Overall its a well directed piece by the duo of Lamberson and O’ Hear that keeps you entertained and holds your attention.
