Film Review: AMERICAN SCUMBAGS (2016)

AMERICAN SCUMBAGS is a sleazy drug fueled trash exploitation film that features three interconnecting stories that follow drug addict/dealer Johnny (Dakota Bailey), the psychopathic convict Billy (Darien Fawkes) and Chester (Fred Epstein) the drug kingpin. Dakota Bailey is a self taught film maker which he must be commended for, and with AMERICAN SCUMBAGS he takes the viewer into a dark seedy underworld full of drugs, alcohol, sex, crime and grime.
Obviously low budget and filmed in black and white, its a gritty VHS style movie. No one is going to win an award for best actor any time soon but one person stood out and not due to their acting, Dakota Bailey has a very unique voice which at first hearing you think its put on but it is his actual voice. The music is from thrash punk band Pizzatramp, who deliver the goods with songs such as ‘Taxi Cunts Fuck Off’, ‘Ciggy Butt Brain’ & ‘Scumbag Boogie’. Just like the movie itself the songs are not something someone easily offended will enjoy. If you like trashy films then look out for Dakota Bailey’s AMERICAN SCUMBAGS and his previous films.
