Independent Horror Adventure Echoes of Dread Arrives on Blu-ray and DVD This May

Falls Church-based Eagle Films announces the Blu-ray and DVD release of its latest indie horror adventure, Echoes of Dread, arriving this May, with a streaming debut to follow this summer.

From filmmaker Philip Cook, Echoes of Dread builds on the legacy of his cult favorite Despiser—now in its third pressing—delivering a contemporary supernatural thriller rooted in digital-age terror.

A crowd-funded production, the film follows a digital creator who uncovers a cursed film hidden for over a century. After sharing it online, she inadvertently unleashes a spreading nightmare that infects her audience. As viewers fall under its influence, she must race to stop an ancient evil before it turns the internet into its hunting ground.

Produced and edited in Cook’s Falls Church studio, Echoes of Dread showcases practical miniatures and hands-on visual effects, highlighting a commitment to ambitious, independent filmmaking.

“Creating Echoes of Dread has been a labor of love,” said Cook. “It continues my passion for character-driven fantasy and sci-fi stories that are unique, sometimes eccentric, and never boring.”

The Blu-ray and DVD are available now at a 20% discount with free shipping through the end of May using code CP-ECHOES26:

The film is produced by Philip Cook and Mark Hyde, with Cook serving as writer and director. The cast includes Michelle Principi, Austin Greene, Rick Foucheux, Mark Hyde, Mike Cuccherini, Jean Rosolino, and Sam Lunay.

Philip Cook is a multi-award-winning independent filmmaker known for science fiction and fantasy films including the Malice Trilogy, Pungo: A Witch’s Tale, Ghost Planet, Invader, and Despiser. His work is recognized for imaginative storytelling and innovative visual effects achieved on modest budgets, often exploring themes of technology and unintended consequences.
