Mercy Falls, the Scottish-set horror thriller directed by Ryan Hendrick (Lost At Christmas) and starring Outlander alum, 2x BAFTA Winner Lauren Lyle, has surged into the Top 10 of Prime Video’s Horror category in the United Kingdom, peaking as high as #8, marking a significant milestone in the film’s digital performance following a protracted rights dispute.

Originally released in 2023, Mercy Falls follows a group of friends on a hiking trip into the remote Scottish Highlands that descends into tragedy, mistrust, and violence after a fatal accident. The film also features performances from Nicolette McKeown (Damaged), James Watterson (Mrs Sidhu Investigates), Layla Kirk (Granite Harbour), Joe Rising (Annika), Eoin Sweeney (FBI: International) and Gilly Gilchrist (Gladiator), and was produced by David Newman through Magic Monkey Films.
After a two-year battle to reclaim the UK rights to the film, following the collapse of 108 Media / Bingo Films, newly accessible streaming data now paints a far more accurate picture of Mercy Falls’ performance. This renewed UK momentum follows the film’s international success, including its acquisition and release in North America and Canada as a Tubi Original, where it reached a broad global audience. Together, these results stand in stark contrast to earlier claims that the film had generated minimal revenue under its previous UK distribution arrangement.

“It’s incredibly rewarding to see Mercy Falls finally reach a meaningful audience,” said Ryan Hendrick. “Its rise into Prime Video’s Top 10 horror titles not only reflects genuine viewer interest, but also highlights how transparency in rights and reporting can unlock value for creators and audiences alike.”
The film’s ascent on Prime Video comes amidst ongoing industry conversations about the need for greater transparency, equity, and reform in film distribution and rights reporting — particularly for independent and genre filmmakers. As digital platforms continue to shape viewing habits, Mercy Falls stands as a case study for the potential impact of transparent metrics and improved access to performance data.
Mercy Falls is available to stream on Prime Video UK, offering viewers 1h 43min of horror-thriller suspense set against the dramatic backdrop of the Scottish wilderness.
