Director Kenny Scott Guffey and Producer Chris Hooten’s CK Film and Entertainment continue to build their brand with Kings of Horror. This past 2025 saw the indie film studio being featured in Billboard Magazine for their award-winning film Rick Nelson: Guntersville, and wrapping their action drama, 77, which premieres in early 2026.
But horror is a still a priority for the studio. Following their highly successful live event of Tom Holland’s Fright Night, which Guffey hosted with musician and production partner, Denny Kidd in January of 2025, CK signed an exclusive contract with the Kings of Horror channel to continue producing content for the streamer.
The latest outing from Guffey and Kidd is Sweeney Todd, an original script penned by writer Tyler Aucoin, not based on the stage musical, and starring Derrick Overstreet (77) and Shaun Weiss of the beloved Disney Mighty Ducks franchise.
The project will unveil January 15th at 7pm eastern time on Kings of Horror and also stars Tylor Carroll (Vignettes), Michael Randazzese (The Walking Dead), Ethan Rodgers (The People of New York vs Ronald DeFeo), Melanie Nix (Fright Night), Natasha Vogt (Fright Night) and newcomer Jake B. West, with narrator Danny Hitt (Fright Night).
