Exclusive Interview: Tuesday Knight (Daylight To Dark)

Who or what inspired you to get into the filmmaking business and how do you feel you have grown as an Actress and as a person?

I was a singer first and then I did an episode of “Fame”. I just felt it was something I wanted to do. I was still involved with music a lot. It took me a while. But after – A Nightmare on Elm Street, I really decided that this is something that I really want to do. I still wanted to do music of course but this is where my heart is. I totally think I’ve grown as an actress. ANOES was my first film. I was on some television shows (General Hospital, Matllock etc.) and those helped me a lot. As an actress – I’m incredibly better.

I of course must ask you about being in one of the best and beloved horror franchises A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET. What is your favourite moment in the whole franchise for you?

The most chilling (standout) is Tina’s death (Part 1). My favorite was working with Brooke Bundy in the scene when she drugs me and I run upstairs (“dream of some place fun”).

Besides the fact that you starred in A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 4: THE DREAM MASTER (1988) and WES CRAVEN’S NEW NIGHTMARE (1994), which of the other films in the franchise – including the remake – do you consider to be the top three?

    Part 1, Part 3 and Part 2.

Should they ever make a new A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET movie where do you think the franchise should go with Freddy Krueger and anything you feel they should explore more with the character?

I would love to play Kristen’s mother in a film and that a continuation of New Nightmare would be an awesome idea.

One of the many projects you are currently working on is the vampire film DAYLIGHT TO DARK (Directed by Jake C. Young and Co-Directed by Kenny Scott Guffey). What can you tell us about your character in this movie and the movie itself without giving any spoilers?

For some reason – I’ve always wanted to play a ghost or a vampire. All I can say is she’s locked into another decade. She’s not hip and now but she is in a way. She’s been around a long time, and she’s grown to be a leader. Someone you can go to for help or whatever. She’s like a 1940s movie star turned mafia boss. It’s a great character, I loved it.

You starred in one of my favourite TV shows THE X-FILES in the episode Trevor (Series 6 – Episode 17). What was your experience of working on the TV series THE X-FILES?

This is a good one. They paid me a lot. David Duchovny was really nice and sweet. The person that was the nastiest was Gillian Anderson. She wouldn’t sit with any of the guest stars. I was a guest star on that show and she told me that she doesn’t sit with the guest stars.

I’m sure fans of you here in the UK would love to see you make an appearance at a horror convention over here. Are there any plans for such a thing to happen?

Yes, I would love to. I did one. I would love to go back. I don’t know why I never went back.

Talking of conventions, what is your favourite part of doing them and on the flipside of that question what do you find tiresome?

I love the fact that you get to meet with the fans of the movie, and they are so interested and captivated by the story. You get to talk to the fans and really see what’s going on.

Outside of working in the filmmaking industry you are also a musician. Where can people listen to and buy your music? Do you have a favourite song you have created?

All platforms (Spotify, Apple, Youtube etc). Currently my favorite song I’ve created is “Crushed”.

Finally, what projects do you have coming up?

Movies: Daylight To Dark, The Last Culprit, Séance of the Queens (coming to Amazon Prime).

Music: I sing on a song on a new Prince boxed-set release. There are multiple versions of my song “Nightmare” coming out that I collaborated with Denny Kidd (Kidd Kave Music). Denny also produced this and also the following upcoming releases “Dark” (title track from Daylight To Dark) and “Harder You Know”. One version of “Nightmare” is significantly heavier, but all tracks are very modern.
