Philip RogersBy Philip Rogers20th February 2023No Comments3 Mins Read

The terror returns once again to Premiere Cinemas, as the Romford Horror Festival returns for its third year from February 23rd – 26th February. With its biggest line up yet audiences will have a choice between two screens where they will be able to view 102 features and shorts over the 4 days.

The festival offers a variety of titles to cater all horror tastes from around the world, delivering a mixture of both classic films and new premiers. Budgets ranging from the low end of independent cinema to multi million epics.

The festival includes several films from local filmmakers including See What She Did, Room 301 and the Uncut Premiere of Video Shop Tales of Terror which due to popular demand now has two separate screenings.

There will also be several international films playing at the festival including the premieres of Pou aka Peacock a South African film Which mixes repression and the troubled past of Africa and the Uncanny from the United States which has the director Clara Gabrielle and star Marie Laurin flying in from LA.

Comedy horror is high on the agenda with Puppetkiller, The Iron Sheik Massacre a film about a killer wrestling toy, Tatties features a series of rather unpleasant potatoes And veteran actress Linda Marlowe takes manners to a brand new level ain A Hymn To Her. If that’s not enough what’s not to love about a killer taco in the film All You Can Eat.

Big budget thrills can be found in the movies The Ones You Didn’t Burn, They Wait In The Dark, Meanspirited and The Ghost Writer all making rare festival appearances. There is also a high representation of films from Spain, Belgium, Taiwan, Korea, Germany, France and Ireland adding a real international feel to the event, with filmmakers flying in especially for the event.

You will also get another chance to see some festival favourites on the big screen such as Eating Miss Campbell, Feed Me, A Life On The Farm, and Mask of the Devil.

To coincide with the long unseen interview with acclaimed horror director Lucio Fulci called Fulci Talks, Italian horror stars Silvia Collatina and Giovanni Lombardo Radice will be attending the festival. The actors will be at the festival throughout and be taking part in exclusive interviews which will be followed by a signing for fans.

Be on the lookout for some special horror themed cocktails and Brentwood brewery sponsors of the festival will be supplying a number of their speciality beers which will be available behind the bar.

A Full Festival pass will cost just £34, day passes cost £15 and individual screenings are only £4 with exception of the live interview with Giovanni and Silvia.  A full festival pass gives you exposure to everything.
