Director Steven LaMorte’s zombie/film noir movie BURY ME TWICE has been added to the schedule for this year’s Dances With Films film festival.
The pic, written by Lion King II : Simba’s Pride scribes Flip Kobler and Cindy Marcus, has been Never Leave Alive director LaMorte’s passion project for over 5 years. The independently produced movie was shot 100% on green screen, meaning all of the sets and backgrounds had to be added in post-production. It had ever frame of its over 2500 visual effects shots animated by the director to create its unique live action comic book look.
Set in 1954, the film sees a washed up detective taking on a case searching for a missing girl, soon discovering solving the mystery of her disappearance is the key uncovering the source of the zombie outbreak – and saving the city!
Jack McGregor (Danny Hansen) was once the top cop in town. Now a washed up private detective, Jack is presented with a mysterious new case – find a young reporter’s missing sister. But before he can connect the dots, Los Angeles is torn apart – the dead are coming back to life, hungry for the flesh of the living – and this missing girl is at the center of it. As LA erupts in chaos, Jack is left with no one to help him but a scrappy female reporter, a rookie cop, and a Louisiana born baseball player. Seemingly trapped in a city overrun, Jack must band together with his new friends, find the missing girl, and follow the source of the outbreak to save the town he once vowed to protect and serve.
