Mario Cerrito and Michael Joy Partner To Make Horror Film, “The House In The Pines”
A collaboration of horrific proportions partners award winning filmmaker, Mario Cerrito and HNN manager, Michael Joy, for the making of the feature film, “The House In the Pines”.
The team of Cerrito and Joy have come together and will share their knowledge of the horror genre to co-produce, “The House In The Pines”, which can be described as an 80’s slasher film that is nothing like an 80’s slasher film. I guess we will have to wait and see what that means. Joining Cerrito and Joy on this blood-soaked journey will be producer, John DiRenzo.
Cerrito and DiRenzo previously teamed to produce “The Listing” which won best feature film at last year’s HNN Film Festival. Cerritos latest work of horror is “Human Hibachi” which will be released soon and it is as disturbing as it sounds.
“The House In The Pines” screenplay is complete and there will be casting announcements in the coming weeks. Mario Cerrito is set to direct.
“The world as we know it has changed and with the film industry getting back to work, it’s not going to be business as usual. We stand at the forefront of a very different movie experience. The food chain has been disrupted and independent filmmakers will be forging a new path for the industry to follow. Make no mistake about it, there is a changing of the guard and filmmakers like Mario Cerrito are ready to open a lot of eyes in this new evolution. The timing is perfect for something completely strange and original. This is why I am stepping on-board. I believe this project will break new ground as we all walk into the unknown.” – Statement from HNN manager, Michael Joy
