Get ready for some (Summer?) holiday spirits as the first family of fright celebrates the festive season in this quirky and hilarious movie THE MUNSTERS’ SCARY LITTLE CHRISTMAS.
Released for the first time in the UK on DVD, this is timeless and unique entertainment the whole family can enjoy again and again. It’s a Munsterpiece!
THE MUNSTERS’ SCARY LITTLE CHRISTMAS has a completely different cast to HERE COMES THE MUNSTERS, released the previous year in 1995. The full cast had been going to reprise their roles but when Edward Herrmann requested a small raise in his salary, the producers thought it acceptable to reduce the other cast members salary to cover it. In the end the full cast decided not to do the sequel and a new cast was hired.
THE MUNSTERS title was created by combining the words “fun” and monsters”.
Jack Marshall (a producer at Capitol Records throughout the ‘50s and ‘60s) was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1965 for composing the theme music to THE MUNSTERS.
Synopsis:
Eddie Munster (Bug Hall) misses Transylvania and clearly doesn’t think it’s the most wonderful time of the year, so the rest of The Munsters’ Herman (Sam McMurray), Lily (Ann Magnuson), Grandpa (Sandy Baron) and Marilyn (Elaine Hendrix) – rally to make him enjoy the holly, jolly magic that Santa brings.
“Please remind Grandpa to check the stockings before he hangs them, last year he forgot to take the feet out” – Lily Munster
