VERTIGO RELEASING PREPARE SEQUEL FOR RELEASE

Peter 'Witchfinder' HopkinsBy Peter 'Witchfinder' Hopkins21st July 2019Updated:21st July 2019No Comments2 Mins Read

In 2008, THE STRANGERS hit cinema screens and became a genre classic for many. It would be another 10 years before a sequel would arrive and it is called THE STRANGERS: PREY AT NIGHT.

The film was directed by Johannes Roberts (47 METRES DOWN) and the first films writer/director Bryan Bertni returns here as writer alongside Ben Ketai.

Starring Christina Hendricks (Mad Men), Martin Henderson (THE RING), Bailee Madison (Brothers), Lewis Pullman (Battle of the Sexes), Damian Maffei (Christmas with the Dead), Emma Bellomy (Before the Dark) and Lea Enslin (BFF Girls).

Blending John Carpenter’s iconic mastery of horror’s best friend, lighting, with a fun retro ‘80s soundtrack imbues THE STRANGERS: PREY AT NIGHT with the spirit of beloved vintage slashers, with spectacular set pieces, like a particular poolside tussle set to Bonnie Tyler’s “Total Eclipse of the Heart” sure to become a staple of our nightmares!

With strong performances from its cast, the central family feel less like lambs led to slaughter and more, genuine people pushed to their very limits, which is perfectly contrasted by the disturbing auras emitted by Bellamy, Maffei and Enslin behind the masks of The Strangers.

THE STRANGERS: PREY AT NIGHT is gleefully unrelentless and unpredictable in its chaos, never slowing down and leaving us in perpetual fear of what may be lurking behind the next corner – a frightful experience for vintage thrillseekers and
    series strangers alike.

    Synopsis:

When Cindy and her husband Mike take their rebellious teenage daughter Kinsey and son Luke on a road trip, what begins as an ordinary, gripe-filled family excursion soon becomes their worst nightmare come to life.

Upon arrival at a secluded mobile home park, a knock on their trailer door leads to an inescapable night of terror as three strangers, with inexplicable deadly intentions, force this fractured family to come together and fight for their lives.

Vertigo Releasing will be releasing THE STRANGERS: PREY AT NIGHT on Digital Download 24th August 2018.
