Film Review: ABOVE US LIVES EVIL (a.k.a. They Came From The Attic) (2009)

ABOVE US LIVES EVIL (a.k.a. They Came From The Attic) ** Canada 2009 Dir: Jason Mills 75 mins

A family (comprising of father, mother, daughter and son) move into a new home to start afresh. Little do they know that the place they have decided to start their new life harbors something sinister.
An easy to watch indie film that unfortunately has a few pitfalls throughout, one being the horrible acting. Outside of the daughter played by Nicola Elbro the rest of the cast just seemed to have wandered on to the set and seem surprised to be in a film. Their acting is stiffer then stale bread but unlike their acting the bread seems appealing. The best thing of the movie is the creatures that look like the ones from THE DESCENT but with a few added extras. Visually the film is stunning and if writer/director Jason Mills had spent more time on giving the creatures a back story, this film would be a hit amongst creature feature fans. Leave your brain at the door when you come to watch this one and you will have fun.
