    AWAKEN THE DEVIL ** U.S.A. 2015 85 mins Dir : Daniel E. Falicki

Homeless and alone in the world, two brothers must fight against unseen forces to stop the rise of the Anti-Christ. From the very start of this movie it is shot in the style of ‘SIN CITY‘, you know the style, lots of CGI to give it that graphic novel coming to life look. We follow two homeless guys who are alone in the world and we get to listen to the endless drivel that comes from the able walking brother as the other is wheelchair bound and unable to speak.
After a long and tedious one sided chat, the brothers go in search of somewhere to sleep the night. Choosing the first derelict building they come across they go in to sleep. As our two unfortunates sleep an evil presence enters their dreams and succubi have their way with the able walking brother. Now the succubi have had their way with them, a body found earlier in the film now carries the seed of the Devil and will give birth to the Ani-Christ. Now that very beast will now be able to walk the Earth unless good can prevail. Unfortunately this film is rather bland and that after the halfway mark with little to no action you couldn’t care too much for the brothers despite their predicament. The film itself feels like a short film stretched out to fill a feature film running time and the CGI is just used to cover up the weak plot and script. Overall ‘AWAKEN THE DEVIL‘ is not a great film but fans of ‘SIN CITY‘ esque effects might find it enjoyable.
