HORROR SCREAMS VIDEO VAULT – SUPPORTING INDEPENDENT HORROR

THE MOTHERTOWN ***  U.K. 2014 Dir: John Williams 116 Mins

What do you do when you have been told to give up on your dream? Do you do just that, or like John Williams you ignore the naysayers and get on with your dream? Determined to bring his vision to life John Williams has managed to bring a whole bunch of zombies on a very limited budget to a grander scale. Following the accident of the water getting contaminated (a tried and tested format for sure in zombie films), the locals of Stoke On Trent after drinking it become zombies.
A simple premise but now we get in to the film as we follow a range of people all on their own little mission to either survive or escape the zombies, they consist of 2 dim witted security guards, a church lady with her Tourette’s syndrome son and a girl working in a local shop, a local news cameraman and his reporter, 2 guys at a Mistress sex dungeon and 2 local football fans. Will they all come together and work as a team or will the worst of humanity do what is best for themselves? Encompassing black comedy (especially the 2 guys in the Mistress sex dungeon), slight gore and a story line that will keep you entertained, this is one indie zombie film to keep a watch out for.

Keep an eye out for former ‘They Think It’s All Over’ host Nick Hancock making an appearance throughout.
