Marc Price Celebrates ‘Trick or Treat’s’ 40th Anniversary with Role in ‘Witchcraft: The Lanterne of Light’

Marc Price is heading back into the horror genre.

The actor, best known to millions of television viewers as Skippy Handelman on NBC’s hit sitcom Family Ties, has signed on to star in Witchcraft: The Lanterne of Light, the latest installment in the long-running Witchcraft horror franchise.

The casting also comes as fans celebrate the 40th anniversary of the cult horror classic Trick or Treat, where Price earned genre status playing Eddie “Ragman” Weinbauer, a bullied teenager caught in a supernatural nightmare that has remained a favorite among horror fans for decades.

In Witchcraft: The Lanterne of Light, Price plays Blake, a reporter assigned to cover the paranormal investigation team Unmasking the Paranormal as they travel into the North Carolina wilderness to investigate the legend of The Lanterne of Light, an ancient manuscript tied to a sinister cult known as The Children of the Hollow. What begins as a routine assignment quickly spirals into a terrifying fight for survival as the team’s investigation uncovers forces beyond explanation.

Directed by Carissa Pierson from a screenplay by Andrew Pierson, the film is the eighteenth chapter in the Witchcraft franchise, which debuted in 1988. Price joins a cast that includes Academy Award nominee Eric Roberts, A Nightmare on Elm Street star Lisa Wilcox, television personality Kato Kaelin, Kristina Lafser, Sandy Johnson, and Andrew Pierson.

“Marc has entertained audiences for decades, and we’re thrilled to welcome him to the Witchcraft family,” Pierson said. “He brings a unique energy to Blake, and horror fans are going to love seeing him back in the genre.”

Principal photography is scheduled to begin this fall in North Carolina.

For longtime fans, the role marks another horror outing for an actor whose performances in both comedy and genre films have earned him a loyal following. Forty years after Trick or Treat, Marc Price is once again stepping into the supernatural—this time with a camera rolling and something far darker waiting in the shadows.
