Chris Shane Sanders, has reached an impressive milestone in the horror movie community – writing, producing, and often directing multiple original horror features which have been picked up by Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Tubi TV and Fandango at Home, a joint venture between Warner Bros and NBC.
He has collaborated with several notable names in the genre, including BAI LING (The Crow, Red Corner) and Vernon Wells (MAD MAX 2, COMMANDO) who bought Hollywood gravitas to the independent sets.
Since launching his production company Black Coppice Films LTD he has worked tirelessly to carve out a niche in the horror film world, shooting scenes for his movies not only in the midlands but also in Los Angeles. He has been dubbed the UK’s Roger Corman, having given hundreds their first break in the industry.
“I’ve always believed that horror is more about emotion, transformation, and survival than jump scares,” says Chris Shane Sanders. “Working with respected actors like Bai Ling, John Altman and Vernon Wells has been a great experience, and it’s helped elevate the stories we tell.”
Sanders’s films are now top picks on Amazon Prime and Apple TV. Werewolf Cabal for example sits proudly alongside classics such as An American Werewolf in London and Dog Soldiers. This November he shoots a mystery thriller called Kill Karina Kill. The film stars James Duval (Donnie Darko) (Independence Day). “It still feels surreal flying these Hollywood stars into the UK and seeing my movies on Prime and Apple TV. I have so many stories to tell – I feel like I’m just getting started.”
