How did you get attached to ALIEN STORM?
I’m very lucky to have such a wonderful manager. He is a part of a few filmmaking and
filmmaker’s groups and got wind of the project and reached out for me. He sent in my Demo
Reels and they were very interested. They said the film had actually already been fully cast, but
that they wanted to work with me so much that they would write another role in for me, so they
did!
Tell us a little bit about your character, Billie?
The character I play, Billie, is a waitress and she works for the company catering the party
where the film takes place. I think Billie’s job is kind of her dream job, getting to go to parties
with important business people such as Tom Arnold’s character Mayor Harrison Walker. When
things shift, Billie is very indicative of how people might actually respond if they found
themselves in a life or death situation. Billie is rational, but she’s also very afraid for her life. She
wants herself and all of her friends to survive so they can return to their fun lives of parties.
How was it working with Adam Werth?
Adam Werth is really quite spectacular at directing. I was lucky enough to get to watch him
direct a few scenes when I was not directly on camera, and I tell you, it is something to see.
Particularly, Adam Werth as director and Michael Su on camera is an absolutely incredible and
indestructible duo. Adam and Michael are the kind of people you want behind the camera. It’s
really nice as an actor to be able to trust your director and DP as much as I do them. It puts your
mind at ease and you can focus on your work. If those two are behind the camera, you can
relax knowing they’ll make you look the best you can look, and make the film be the best it can
be. It’s not an easy job, but they certainly make it look easy. The whole production team on Alien
Storm is really, really strong. There was a really healthy balance of professionalism, efficiency,
and friendliness.
What was your favorite scene?
My favorite scene that I was in was probably the scene where there are a few of the guests
sitting around discussing what we should do next. I think the dialogue in this scene is written
really well in regards to the different things people would actually be considering in this type of
scenario. People’s minds are going in a million different directions, which I think is really realistic
and frightening.
What was the most difficult aspect to making this film?
I was pretty lucky in the making of this film, the production team was so strong that the entire
process was extremely easy-going for me as an actor. There weren’t difficulties during the
process at all. The production team thought of everything ahead of time and thoroughly planned
everything out. If there were any difficulties, I certainly did not see them.
What makes this film stand out?
I think this film stands out because it is an amazing feat to pull off. This is quite a large and
impressive film for the indie film market. There are a lot of really talented and skilled people from
all over the world working on Alien Storm and a lot of people have heard about it and are
supporting it. People are really interested in Alien Storm and are interested in supporting it and
are interested in its success.
Do you have any favorite horror films?
What appeals to me about Alien Storm in particular is its nature of being a both a Sci-Fi and a
horror film. I’m particularly fond of the Sci-Fi genre. My favorite horror films often have a Sci-Fi
element to them.
What made you want to get into acting?
When I was growing up, I could never decide what I wanted to be. There were so many things I
liked, it was difficult for me to choose just one. Career fairs in high school never did it for me. I
was always a part of every club and activity at school that I could find and Drama was one of
them. While doing high school musicals and plays, my Drama teacher recommended that I
continue on studying it post-secondarily, so I did. It wasn’t until I was in University that I realized
that the reason acting is my passion is because I don’t feel that I have to choose to only be one
thing, in acting, I get to be anything and everything.
Who inspires your creativity?
I am extremely lucky to be surrounded by really wonderful people. I receive an incredible
amount of support from people who want me to succeed. I would be nowhere without my
parents, quite literally, but also in the way that they’ve gone above and beyond for me for my art
and they continue to do so. I’m constantly getting inspired by those around me. I really am
grateful for the fuel I receive from my friends, my family, my peers, my castmates, crewmates,
and all of my supporters.
What’s next for you?
There will definitely be more Mahal Empire Productions films for me in the future. The Mahal
brothers are particularly good at gathering people that get along and work well together and that
attracts even more people that get along and work well together. The Mahal Empire keeps
growing and people are really attracted to what is being made. I would like to come back for
many more Mahal Empire Productions films. Mahal Empire Productions will be filming it’s next
feature film, “Cursed Waters” in July, and I am happy to say that I will be ‘on-board’ with that
film, pun intended.
