HORROR SCREAMS VIDEO VAULT – SUPPORTING INDEPENDENT HORROR

HOLE IN THE WALL ** U.S.A. 2014 Dir: Carolyn Baker, Derrick Carey, Steve Goltz, Greg Johnson, Rob Michels, Andrew N. Shearer, Kevin Sommerfield, Cory Udler 79 mins

Possibly one of the most sickest and disturbing anthology films you will ever see. If that hasn’t got you interested in ‘HOLE IN THE WALL’ I don’t know what will. Our wraparound story sees a guy bringing a body into his barn looked on by a Gollum looking hillbilly and thus begins the anthology with the Ed Gein inspired story where some goths want to buy one of Ed Geins chairs. Doing a ritual they bring his ghost back and this allows Mr Gein to go on his merry way enticing a young lady at a bar into walking her home.
This is intercut with flashbacks of Ed’s life as a young man talking to his mum played by Judith O’dea ( Barbra, ‘NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD’). This story is possibly the most gentle of all as there is one where a man who shits himself, uses decapitated fingers as anal beads and ejaculates over his captured victim. That is sure to be a story that will make you cringe, gag or just feel filthy. Back to our hillbilly friends in the barn they go about beating the hell out of a victim and just making a plain old mess of the place with intestines used as ties. There is a few other shorts involved but they aren’t as memorable. You would be forgiven in thinking that this film is just about the shocks, even if they aren’t your usual shocks. This sickfest wouldn’t have been made possible without all the talents involved. So if you want a nice quite evening with family and friends gathered around for a film night and you decide to put this on make sure you have a bucket ready.
