VS-240: Dear Dead Delilah [BD/DVD Combo] *Limited Slipcover Edition of 1,500*

This special limited edition embossed slipcover (designed by Earl Kessler Jr.) is limited to just 1,500 units and is only available at VinegarSyndrome.com!

Back in 1943, Luddy viciously murdered her mother with an axe. 30 years later and freshly released from the state mental hospital, deemed ‘cured’ of her violent impulses, Luddy’s luck seems to be turning around, thanks to a chance encounter with the family of Delilah (Agnes Moorehead), the miserly matriarch of a large plantation estate. She quickly finds herself hired as Delilah’s housekeeper, but no sooner than her arrival at the cavernous and secluded mansion, grisly murders begin to take place. And worse, each time a new corpse is discovered, Luddy finds she is unable to recall her whereabouts at the time of the bloodshed. Could her old self be coming out, or is someone else trying to set her up for more sinister motives?

A cheerfully grim blending of Southern Gothic stylings, murder mystery structure, and proto-slasher gore, acclaimed horror novelist John Farris’ (THE FURY) sole feature film directorial effort, DEAR DEAD DELILAH, was an ubiquitous drive-in crowd pleaser throughout the 70s. Produced by Nashville country legend “Cowboy” Jack Clement, co-starring a who’s who of TV actors including Roger Gentry (ALL MY CHILDERN), Will Geer (THE WALTONS), and Dennis Patrick (DALLAS), plus featuring an unforgettably strange performance from one-timer Patricia Carmichael as Luddy, Vinegar Syndrome proudly brings this lurid helping of Southern Fried sleaze to Blu-ray, newly restored from recently discovered 35mm vault elements!

    Directed by: John Farris
    1972 / 97min / Color / 1.85:1 OAR

VS-241: Wonder Women [BD/DVD Combo] *Limited Slipcover Edition of 1,500*

This special limited edition embossed slipcover (designed by Earl Kessler Jr.) is limited to just 1,500 units and is only available at VinegarSyndrome.com!

While traveling to Australia, American detective Mike Harber (Ross Hagen) finds himself stranded in The Philippines and obliged to assist in solving the mysterious disappearance of a famous Jai alai athlete. After hearing from a witness that the man might have been kidnapped by a group of beautiful, hearse driving women, Mike quickly finds himself a new target of the Wonder Women, a group of martial arts fighting assassins who work for the mysterious Dr. Tsu (Nancy Kwan); an evil genius scientist who’s been collecting able-bodied men for use in her bizarre body part transplant experiments!

Martial arts madness, dangerous chase scenes, insult-heavy dialogue, vague sci-fi twists, and a whole lot more nudity and violence than its very misleading PG rating would imply. Robert Vincent O’Neill’s WONDER WOMEN is a quintessential slice of early 70s drive-in craziness, featuring supporting performances from Roberta Collins, Sid Haig and Filipino exploitation stalwart Vic Diaz. Vinegar Syndrome is pleased to bring this eye-poppingly colorful B movie classic to Blu-ray, newly restored from its original 35mm camera negative and featuring both its original domestic theatrical version as well as the complete, never-on-disc extended European cut!

    Directed by: Robert Vincent O’Neill
    1973 / 82min / Color / 1.85:1

Starring: Nancy Kwan, Ross Hagen, Sid Haig, Maria De Aragon, Vic Diaz, Roberta Collins

VS-242: Shot [BD/DVD Combo] *Limited Slipcover Edition of 1,500*

This special limited edition embossed slipcover (designed by Earl Kessler Jr.) is limited to just 1,500 units and is only available at VinegarSyndrome.com!

Semi-urban detective duo Ross and Wilson have been charged with taking down local drug kingpin, Blasi. After busting a low-level pusher, they convince his girlfriend, Sheila, to start working for them as an undercover operative in exchange for avoiding prison. But as Ross finds himself becoming romantically interested in his new, perpetually spaced out informant, Blasi continues to strengthen his crime empire, setting his sights on even loftier, and deadlier, ambitions.

A low-key piece of regional New American Cinema influenced action-thriller and character drama, SHOT was produced for a scant $15,000 in the college town of Champaign, IL and is made all the more impressive by the fact that it was written, produced and directed by then college students Mitch Brown and Nate Kohn, using funds they’d raised doing campus film screenings. With its well choreographed and French Connection inspired car chase and stunt scenes, impressive helicopter photography (and pursuits), punctuated by naturalistic performances from a mostly amateur cast, along with extensive local color, SHOT remains a forgotten gem of early 70s regional filmmaking. Barely screened theatrically and almost impossible to see since its brief VHS release (in which it was retitled DEATH SHOT), Vinegar Syndrome presents SHOT on Blu-ray, newly restored from its 16mm reversal original and fully uncut for the first time on video.

    Directed by: Mitch Brown
    1973 / 92min / Color / 1.33:1

Starring: Richard C. Watt, Frank Himes, Charles Russell, Neil Lifton, Jay Brett, James Hinton, Denise Sondej, Margaret Uharik

    Features Include:

    • Region free Blu-ray/DVD combo
    • Newly scanned and restored in 2k from 16mm camera negative
    • “Taking the Shot” – an interview with director Mitch Brown
    • Audio interview with producer Nate Kohn
